About the course
In this course you will be introduced to the basics of starting your own Clinical Social Work practice. While only you get to decide which decisions are right for you, topics of discussion for consideration include that of business structures, NPI numbers, EIN numbers, liability and malpractice insurance, electronic health records, intake paperwork, secure communication systems, financial concerns, fee structures, policies, securing a physical versus virtual office, marketing strategies and building a support team. Gain insight from the instructor’s direct personal experience and determine the path that works best for your own practice needs. PLEASE NOTE: There are no continuing education credits available for this program.
Meet the Instructor, Stephanie Payne, LCSW
Stephanie Payne, LCSW earned her Masters of Social Work at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Since then, she's worked in a residential treatment facility for adolescents with emerging Borderline Personality traits, in a primary care clinic, in a community mental health practice, and in private practice. She currently owns a private practice specializing in Borderline Personality Disorder and trauma, and manages a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient clinic in Madison. In order to better serve patients, she's certified in EMDR. Payne is deeply passionate about Clinical Social Work, and is honored to serve as the President of the Clinical Social Work Association.
